Which?, the consumers association, have published their long awaited survey on trust when house buying with Estate Agents and the report gives a clear indication as to why so many people now trust Homefinders.

The survey of buyers found that 94%, thought Estate Agents deliberately overvalued properties and 70% believed that they invented false offers, both with the sole aim of benefiting the estate agents commission!

The survey shows that people are choosing to use Homefinders when it comes to finding their new home to rent or buy, this ensures that the consumer is protected from the misleading information and guidance of the estate agent, as well as saving the buyer/renter much time and money.

M J Kenny, CEO & Founder of You Want A Home, supports the survey. For sometime now our clients have been telling us they don't want to deal with Estate Agents as they feel they are misguided, provided with false information and pushed into spending money they don't need to. In the professional sector this growth in use has been vast and we have invested heavily in Non Disclosure Documents, Contracts which protect the buyer/renter, training and development of our people and to be fully transparent in every part of our work for a client, I believe this is where ourselves and others differ. It's very clear that some home finding companies are made up of ex-estate agents, this is something which we do not advocate, hence we have professionals who understand people, have strong ethics for serving a clients need, can be 100% objective and can get the best from vendors who sell, estate agents or property companies. Louise Restell of Which? said about 20% of people had not used an agent the last time they bought a property. Homefinders can provide the better value, "This could be the future for many home-movers," she added.
The survey findings coincide with a second vote in the House of Lords on a Bill to regulate estate agencies, which seeks a ban on false practices and agents who do not follow a code of conduct. So far only a small number of agents have signed up to the code of conduct.
Which? Survey Estate Agents, Not professional?
The findings of the Which? survey confirmed the traditionally low esteem in which people hold estate agents. Amongst the findings, about 85% of respondents thought agents were likely to refer clients to financial advisers, other services, etc, with whom they had a link or benefited financially.
And 70% thought they often made up false details of the properties they were selling.
As a result, only politicians were thought less trustworthy by Which?'s respondents.
