When you are in charge of your life you feel more powerful. You are accountable to your own actions. But sometimes when you live with another person such as in a marriage or living together situations, you may let the others decide matters for you and let them take charge of your life. We are giving here some indications and remedies to help you take charge.

Do you identify yourself in the following situations?

1. You always need consent and confirmation from others before you could take any action - You constantly seek approval from others. If they disagree you are afraid to go ahead with your decisions. To you others go ahead nod serves as a positive feedback. Trust in yourself. Success and failure are part of life. Your self-confidence would help you make the right decisions. You do not need others approval for everything you do.

2. You do not stand up or speak up for yourself. You easily let others walk away with unkind words they speak or do harsh deeds to you. You tend to bear the pain and the stress but you never retort. If you would like to be happy and healthy and enjoy an overall sense of wellbeing, you should start standing up for yourself. You should speak your mind. Do not let others trample upon your self-esteem.

3. You cannot take a strong position on anything.
You act as though you are non-opinionated. You do not seem to have a mind of your own and hence follow the flow of events, good or bad. You would be taken for granted in life if you maintain this stand.
You are an independent person who has a right to stand for what you believe in. Know your values and convictions. Be bold to take your stand in any given issue.

4. You hardly display your full potential - You are probably a person with a lot of skills, talents and abilities. But you tend to settle for less than you deserve because of your nature. Realize that you deserve better. Do not settle for less, fight for your rights and you could raise yourself in life.

5. You don't have a Structure or strategy for your life - Because you just flow with the life, you may be a plan, not for yourself but for someone else. Could you imagine a situation where you might have to live your life on your own? What would you do if you have no idea or plan for your life? Be creative. Write down a list of things you would like to do with your life. Begin to execute your wishes and start living your life according to your plan and strategy.

8. You are reluctant to act on your dreams and goals -You are probably a normal person with your own dreams and goals, but you never dare to bring them into the open. The main reason could be a negative attitude where you feel "I cannot do it".

Unless you try you would never know what you can or cannot do in life. Learn to develop a positive attitude. You too can reach your goals. When you let others take charge of your life, you are powerless.

Others would take advantage of your lack of knowledge about your personal responsibility, talents, qualities and power to succeed. Do you want to be powerless or are you ready to take charge of your life now?
