Every job that you apply needs special preparation, as every organization selects a candidate which suites their requirement profile i.e. the minimum qualification, maximum experience, type of skills according them is needed to execute the job, company's policy and future growth plans. It is that before calling for a job interview every organization has an ideal candidate profile prepared. They select the candidate which soot's the best profile.

As first step before applying for a job, you have to do some research and spend some time for analyzing the prospective need, so that you can customize your CV, cover letter and prepare and plan for interview keeping your prospective employer in mind.

Here are some tips and techniques that can be used to identify

1. Read the advertisement

The advertisement gives you an idea about the job specification, skills and competence that an organization is looking for.

a) Study the job title.

b) Write the job description one below the other as in the job advertisement.

c) Write about the kind of experience the organization is looking for.

d) What kind of skills (some special skills if mentioned) and qualification that is required.

By doing so you are going to identify what the prospective employer is looking for and which in turn shall help you to create a profile distinguishing you from other candidates.

2. Start networking
Every advertisement has contact number, email address and website address. It is advisable that you contact the company and identify more about the job profile, the recruiter process, key person for recruitment, about organization,etc. Remember to be tactful. Don't create bad impression about you by asking irrelevant questions, try to be as specific as possible and stick to the point. The information thus collected could be used for personalization of cover letter and interview could be tailored to best match their needs.

3. Read the company's literature or publicity material you are trying to be associated with a job.
One of the easiest way is to read the website (the website address could be found on the advertisement). By doing so you could know about the company, their goals, the process of operation and their future plans, market value, etc.

4. If you are been referred by job placement agency or have been contacted through search engines you have to keep in mind to collect all the preliminary information specified above.

Spending time and efforts for the research would benefit you as.

1. It would allow you to create a good impression.

2. It shows to the prospect employer about your seriousness for the job.

3.Your confidence level would increase while writing a CV and facing an interview.

4. You can sell yourself in most effective manner (as under selling is harmful).

5.This will improve your body language, confidence level and enthusiasm which would reflect on your face and body language during interview.
