A lot of people are sending parcels around the world these days, whether this is for presents to friends and family who have emigrated or sending products as a part of a small home business or online auction. Selling goods to people in other countries can broaden your business' market and so hopefully help promote your products overseas.

The long distance trip your goods has to take can be a rough one, even with the best intentions in the world if your parcel is being repeatedly loaded and unloaded on delivery trucks and airplanes then it is bound to take a few knocks every now and then. With sensitive or fragile materials you will likely have to be careful how you pack your parcel to ensure that it can withstand a few knocks or bumps along the way.

Firstly when packing any goods you need a good strong box made of cardboard to provide a safe and sturdy vessel for anything you're sending. Remember that there is a good chance that your parcel could be stacked so make sure that it can withstand a reasonable amount of pressure.

Sometimes a cardboard box and packing tape can be sufficient but items that are more sensitive may be better off sent inside some form of plastic bag, you can get mailing bags in a range of sizes which have seals ready for you to put your parcel inside and seal up for posting. This acts as an extra precaution when sending parcels internationally against any water damage, as unlikely as it may seem it is still a possibility.

Sending parcels internationally is best done via worldwide parcel delivery companies, you will have likely heard of a few of these companies who have branches throughout the world so they can easily send your order in a short space of time, safely too. These parcel delivery companies are well known for being a quicker and efficient method of international shipping as they operate their own mailing network, not the over-burdened local mail which in the UK alone can be subject to postal strikes and other issues that could delay your delivery.

When sending any parcels internationally you should make sure that you have packed your parcel securely, try to limit the movement of whatever you are sending as if your delivery is rattling around inside it's box then it could be damaged, use packing materials like shredded newspaper, polystyrene or cardboard to secure your item being delivered.
