Desperate for Customers

What service or product are you offering? Is the service or product you offer a need or want for your target market? You should be able to answer both of these questions.

For example, you offer a service. You offer computer services to independent professionals and home users. Unfortunately, computer services are not a pressing need for home users. Yes, you can earn some money from it.

On the other hand, let us say you offer plumbing services to homeowners. Well, plumbing is one of the major systems in a home. A home owner needs reliable plumbing. A homeowner will call a plumber sooner rather than later. Make sure your target market has a strong need or desire for your product or service.

Be aware that needs and wants shift from market to market. For instance, you could have offer computer services to computer heavy small businesses. A small business with heavy computer usage will have a greater need for computer services than home users. Remember your service or product demand may change from market to market. Offer your services to the market with the greatest need.

Also, how you package your services and products can alter whether the customer wants it or needs it. There are more people interested in learning about computers than having one fixed. So what happens if you bundle two one hour computer lessons with a computer tune up? Do you think some of your prospects who want the lessons will pay the nominal cost for the up sell of the computer tune up? Of course they will. Fast food restaurants do it all the time, think value meal.

Finally, offer your services or products on a recurring basis. Choose a service or product that you can offer and charge for periodically. For instance, computer services offered to home users are basically a one shot deal. However, computer services offered to small businesses can be offered on a month-to-month or annual contract.

Failing to understand the market demand for your services will cause you to be desperate for customers.
