Relief to the Poor and Hungry

This world needs more people who are dedicated to do relief work and spread the love of Jesus Christ. Millions of people around the world are in a desperate need of basic help to have a normal life. Millions of street kids in South America and the Philippines have nowhere to seek shelter and get a healthy daily meal and new clothes. The need for help is bigger than ever. In Africa millions of people are suffering from hunger and AIDS while nature disasters in Asia keep coming, making millions of people homeless. Poverty is a problem in Eastern Europe and North America as well.

Even though it seems like the world is talking a lot about this problem, it just seem to keep going on. We, as Christians, should focus more on this problem and be actively involved with Christian relief work and that way spread the love of Christ to a world in need. This world needs a savior and healer that will help them through their day. We have a responsibility to bring His love to people and help wherever we can and bless the poor with what we have. The Bible says in Matt. 25:35-40:

For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me. Then these righteous ones will reply, Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you? And the King will tell them, I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me! Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his demons! For I was hungry, and you didnt feed me. I was thirsty, and you didnt give me anything to drink. I was a stranger, and you didnt invite me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me no clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didnt visit me. Then they will reply, Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you? And he will answer, I assure you, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.

There is always a need to be met and we all have the option to help, but do we see it and if we see it do we seek to help those in need. Christians should support Christian relief organizations and bring the gospel around the world. Not everybody can go to the poor areas of the world and help, but all of us can help financially and be supporters of Christian relief work. It is not only for the few, it is for all believers.

What is you heart's attitude when you see the hungry and poor children in Africa sittings in the sand without anything and without any opportunity for an education and a simple meal. God is giving us a loving and caring heart, because through our faith in Jesus Christ we have been given the heart of Jesus Christ. Jesus had compassion for people when he walked here on earth and he healed the sick and fed the people. And Jesus still has compassion for those in need and wants to help them, but He needs you and me to give what we have and what He gave to us. Help the poor and homeless.
