Trying to get rid of fat can be a difficult thing to do.

A lot of people try to get rid of fat by doing any of the following:

Get rid of fat by doing long bouts of "same speed" cardio. Get rid of fat by doing lots of ab crunches. Get rid of fat by crash dieting.

The truth is, none of these are adequate ways of trying to lose weight or get into shape.

This article will show you two principles that when followed correctly will help you to get rid of fat once and for all.

GET RID OF FAT PRINCIPLE #1: Making the right food choices at the right time.

For a lot of people, understanding the right nutrition principles is the real key to getting rid of fat. The reason that you have fat in the first place is because you have either been inactive, had a bad diet, or both!

It is important you understand that in order to get rid of fat, your diet is the most important thing.

Here are some general dietary guidelines to follow. Keep in mind, these dietary guidelines are not part of some fad diet or "miracle" exercise gimmick. These are just simple tried and true dietary principles that get lose in the media overload of fat loss information.

1. Eat high quality protein.

This is a great way to get rid of fat because it will help to feed your muscles the nutrients they need for when you begin to strength train!

2. Eat complex carbohydrates.

Eating complex carbohydrates are a great way to get rid of fat because it will help to keep your blood sugar regulated. Some examples of complex carbohydrates are oatmeal, yams, and wheat bread.

3. Eat healthy fats.

When most people try to get rid of fat, they go on a crash diet and do not consume any fats at all. Omega 3 fats are actually healthy for your body! Fish is a great source of omega 3 fatty acids.

Aside from having a great diet that consists of these foods, you will get rid of fat by eating them in small portions 4-6 times per day. If you eat smaller meals like this, your body will not be hungry all the time and your blood sugar will stay more regulated.

Like I said before, these are just simple and to the point dietary principles for helping to get rid of fat. The message and the simplification gets lost with the media and all the fad diets that you constantly hear about!

GET RID OF FAT PRINCIPLE #2: Resistance training and cardio.

If you really want to get rid of fat, resistance training and cardio 2-3 times per week will help to sky rocket your results....but ONLY if you do it right!

To use resistance training as a tool to get rid of fat, you will want to do total body workouts. The more muscle you work, the higher your metabolism will be, and the more fat you will burn!

To use cardio as a tool for burning fat, you will want to try doing what is called interval training. This basically consists of getting on a cardio machine and going slow for 2 minutes and then very fast for 1 minute. If you repeat this for 2-1 minute format 3-6 times, you have yourself a great cardio workout that will help to get rid of fat!

Remember to check with a doctor before you try interval training to get rid of fat. It is a very effective fat loss tool, but your safely should be your number 1 priority!
