The triumphs and achievements obtain by the Seattle Supersonics are left behind now they finished their participation in the NBA with season 2007/08, due to some conflicts between the team's owner, Clayton Bennett and some legislator from the city of Seattle.

When the Supersonics disappeared, the decision of moving the franchise to Oklahoma City was taken by the managers, there it was restarted as a total new club named Oklahoma City Thunder; this left them with just one thing that attach them to the Supersonics: the history and the titles achieved by the Seattle team that are now the base for the new one.

For the beginning of last season, when the Supersonics was still active, Kevin Durant joined the club. Durant was a draftee player that turned out to be a valuable member for the team and ended up being the ‘Rookie of the Year 2007/08'; even so this year hasn't been enough for him to hold on high the Oklahoma team.

Oklahoma City Thunder officially started its participation in the NBA at the opening of the present campaign, under the managing of Peter J. Carlesimo, the same trainer guiding Supersonics by the time they closure they story. For this new season, Thunder OKC thought they could have good expectations about themselves basing on the job done by their predecessor, but seems is not as easy as they thought and now looks like the expected is not coming any time soon.

The lack of experience from most of the players, who are deficient in making nice shoot-outs, combined with the low development from coach Carlesimo, the recent transactions of important players and bad game strategy, are the main problems that are stopping the Oklahoma City Thunder from standing out in their debut year.

From the aperture of the season and until now, Oklahoma City has gain victory just once, which makes them fall down to the bottom of the Northeast Conference with a record of 1-11, negative aspect that obviously is not pleasing the Oklahoma's team followers, who feel more letdown over and over again.

These unenthusiastic factors affecting the Thunder are constantly turning more visible, a proof of it is the defeating 109-97 suffered in their last encounter as visitors, against the New Orleans Hornets; the match marked the eleventh consecutive failure for OKC. On their previous match as hosts Thunder got knock out facing the Hornets with a 150-80 on the scoreboard. These slaughters and the other 9 ones have provoked the firing of the trainer P.J Carlesimo; who has worked with other NBA associates as Portland Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors, with which had more success. Apparently this time he couldn't controlled the complexity or the little competitiveness of his team.

With the hope of persevere the Oklahoma City Thunder they designated Scott Brooks as new head coach, after working as the assistant coach of Carlesimo. Brooks, a former player that reached a championship tittle in 1994 with the Houston Rockets, is without a doubt a great election to take charge over the Thunder for his career, in which has worked for Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings; plus of course with the Seattle Supersonics where he remained until the creation of Oklahoma City Thunder on mid 2008.
