These and others may well be contributing factors to the increase number of crises in the world. Let's look at some other possible reasons that the number of crises may be rising.

* The increase in population - Because there are more and more people inhabiting every area of the earth, the statistical chances of a crisis increases. More people mean more opportunity for conflicts. This also means that when natural disasters happen, it is likely that more people will be affected.

* Poor economic circumstances - When people lack for the necessities of life, they are more likely to do things that are harmful to others in an effort to benefit themselves and their families. This can contribute to the increase number of crises that are intentionally performed by people.

* Lower moral standards - As you evaluate the moral standards over the past several decades you will notice that more and more actions are tolerated today that were completely unacceptable one or more decades previous. These lower standards have contributed to an acceptance of behavior that is detrimental to society.

* The technology explosion - The technological advancements that have allowed for an increase in productivity and the power to do things that were never before attempted. This has made certain crimes possible that were never before attempted. This includes computer hacking, white-collar espionage, and targeted attacks against rival companies or personal enemies.

* Religious and cultural differences - People of religious and cultural beliefs and lifestyles are no longer segregated by physical locations. As these religious and cultural diverse people mix together in neighborhoods and cities, the opportunities for irreconcilable differences and violent results increase.
