Your vote counts. You always hear this, especially around election time. Now more than ever your vote counts, especially in today's economic environment. We are trying to save money in everything we do. We have to cut corners because gas prices are at an all time high, the costs of good and services are higher than ever and now there are fewer opportunities to buy a house and see it grow in value. What can we do to make a difference? Where can we cut a corner but still add value to our biggest investment - the house we live in.

The my 401-K dropping fast, I still needed to update my kitchen and I was working with a limited budget of $1,800 for my small kitchen. I priced out kitchen cabinets at the big home improvement store and left the store in a state of shock. I needed a total of 9 cabinets (I don't have a big kitchen) and the store wanted almost three thousand dollars ($3,000). I knew there had to be a better way to do this, I could do the work my self and I was willing to try anything.

After the disappointment from the local kitchen cabinet store I decided to look online for discount kitchen cabinets. This is when I came across RTA kitchen cabinets. Or in other words ready to assemble kitchen cabinets. I am some what handy and the sales pitch for this type of cabinet is less expensive and easy to assemble. I was willing to price these RTA cabinets out and see the difference. I was surprised to see the huge savings. The RTA kitchen cabinets were almost forty percent less than the retail cabinets.

Next I was worried about quality. My fear was that since I couldn't physically see and touch the cabinets before buying them, that I wouldn't be happy with the quality once I received them. Instead I found the RTA cabinets to be as good in quality. In fact, there are several types of RTA kitchen cabinets and the best kinds are the ones that have paneled wood sides and solid wood faces. Avoid RTA products that are built out of particleboard. I found that particleboard takes on moisture and will eventually fall apart. (You don't want a particle board kitchen cabinet; it does not make sense, no matter what the logic behind it is).

So in the end, I spent less than my budget on the kitchen cabinets, I had money left over for other accessories in the kitchen and I was happy with the quality of the kitchen cabinets. I improved the equity in my house without spending a lot of money. This was due to my willingness to renovate the kitchen my self and because I used RTA kitchen cabinets. My vote goes for the RTA kitchen cabinet. This type of product saved me money and time. I did not have to leave my house; the cabinets were delivered right to my door. Saving time and gas money helped cut a corner and kept my renovation project going. I have been remodeling houses for over 10 years... want to find out my secret to getting deals on bathroom vanities and bathroom furniture vanities? I have been able to save hundreds on each of my bathroom renovations.
