A motorcycle battery charger can save you alot of time and headaches down the road. Nothing is more upsetting than wanting to go for a ride when you have a dead battery. Batteries lose capacity over time when they are not charged. In fact, batteries that remain uncharged for any extended period of time may also experience permanent damage. However, a battery trickle charger can help prevent this from happening in the beginning. When you are looking for new motorcycle battery chargers or battery trickle chargers, make sure you do some research on the internet before making a purchase. Here is my list of things to look for my buying a motorcycle battery charger:

Look for features: There are some really cool motorcycle battery chargers on the market. Make sure the battery charger is an automatic battery charger, not a manual battery charger. A manual battery charger can easily lead to over-charging your battery and they cannot be left unattended. Automatic battery chargers can be left connected to the battery at all times. This is important during those winter months. Also, look for ones that can charge all types of lead-acid batteries. You never want to buy a battery trickle charger that can only charge one battery type as you may decide to change batteries down the road.

Don't buy the cheapest: I am all about saving a couple bucks, but don't buy a motorcycle battery charger based on price. Make sure the battery trickle charger has all the options and features you need for your bike.

Get something that lasts: Buy a brand that has a good name. There are several good brands out there to choose from, especially some in new brands. Watch out for some of the older brands as they have not updated to the latest technology. It is easy to tell old technology versus new, just feel the weight of the battery charger. New motorcycle battery charger will be super light.
