How many times in your career have you worked without any motivation? Or let me put it this way. Have you ever received a recognition award in your career? If you haven't still, then you have no idea what you have missed.

Receiving an award for your accomplishments is one of the most satisfying experiences of all times. You feel that you and your contributions towards the company are valued. This is the very reason why recognition awards are held every quarter in most companies.

As an employee, there is a lot that you can gain from a recognition award. You can use it as a ladder to grow within your company. It always serves as a useful and attractive addition in your resume and not to forget the fact that it gives you immense mental satisfaction and a feeling of pride.

The employer's perspective

If you are an employer and you still haven't kept a recognition awards program even after 4 to 5 years of your existence as a company, then you have no idea what you have left out.

Recognition awards are a great way to pep up your staff during strenuous times or when the work load is high.

When I was an employee, the company that I used to work in always had an award program every quarter. The one after Christmas used to be the grandest one of them all. The reasons were pretty simple. Christmas time was when the workload was immense. The awards and the monetary benefits offered were so good that we kept working that extra bit to achieve it.

You too can use this strategy to help your sales team meet their targets or to keep your admin team on their toes. Remember, you should always give something back to your employees. Satisfied employees are the key to the success of a business.
