Texas is a huge state, and there are many options for places to call home within the state limits. There are many small towns to choose from for the peace of living away from the bustle of the cities, there are plenty of large cities like Houston, Fort Worth and Dallas for those who want to live in or near the activity centers of the state, and there are many fun things to see and do, from water parks and amusement parks to activities along the Gulf of Mexico.

For those who are looking for a peaceful community that is within easy access to a big city and far enough away from the city center to keep traffic and pollution down, Edgewater is the new community of choice. This small community is ideally situated near Houston in Galveston County, right alongside the sparkling Clear Lake. The Bay Area should be proud to welcome Edgewater as one of the best places to live in Texas or anywhere.

This community is not one that has sprung up over time and is therefore disorganized and a little confused - instead it is a master-planned community, with diverse homes all tied together with a single architectural theme, carefully planned streets and utilities to minimize traffic and maximize appearance and efficiency, and plenty of amenities, all centralized within the community for great access for all residents. Edgewater is a perfectly planned community for people of all kinds of families, from couples looking for a perfect love nest and a comfortable home to families looking for a home to grow in and good access to a wonderful school system.

Edgewater is planned for a diverse cross section of the population to enjoy it and call it home, with single family homes ranging in price from just around $200,000 all the way up to $2 million. There are home sites for single family homes as well as for custom single family homes for the best range of home designs and the perfect way to suit homes to residents. These homes, of which there are over 350 planned, will all be done in an English Regency style of architecture, with design characteristics continuing on into the town center to tie the whole community in to one gorgeous design element.

Within the town center, there will be additional residences, with lovely townhomes for those who want a little less space or those who need a home in a lower price range than the rest of the community can offer. There will also be luxury apartments for those who are not ready to buy a home or who are not looking for such permanent accommodations. The town center will also be proud to offer a commercial district for residents to shop in, spend relaxing afternoons in, and even to work in if they so choose. The convenient access means that residents will not even have to leave the neighborhood to take care of the shopping that needs to get done.

In addition to the comforts and beauty of the home designs of Edgewater, the recreational opportunities make this little spot one of the best places to live in Texas. Edgewater features a private club house for residents, complete with pool, all backed up to the private Edgewater Marina.

This marina offers protected waterway access to the beautiful Clear Lake as well as to Galveston Bay, and a place for residents to dock their boats if they would prefer not to keep their craft in the water of the marina itself or docked at a private boat dock. These docks are offered to residents on any of the several canals that will back up against the custom single family homes of Edgewater.

As if all of this weren't enough to make anyone admit that Edgewater is one of the best places to live in Texas, there is the fact that the community also includes a 35 acre nature reserve. Follow any one of the several nature trails that cross the community to this park and wander through the natural beauty of the lands around Clear Creek. When you are done, return to your beautiful Edgewater home, and be thankful yet again that you had the foresight to purchase a home in this incredible community while they were still available.
