Specialist flooring manufacturer Flowcrete has reinforced its position as a major global player in the airport flooring sector with the completion a large scale project in Europe.

Almost 120,000 square metres of the car park decking system, Deckshield, have been installed at Findel Airport in Luxembourg.

Deckshield has been applied across four decks of the car park. The installation was carried out by Belgium-based Flowcrete approved contractor, 4m Europe SA, which also has offices in Luxembourg.

Products for the project were manufactured at Flowcrete's headquarters, in Sandbach, Cheshire. Recently, the company has completed projects at international airports including Manchester and Jamaica.

Flowcrete Director, Tony Gear, who oversees the company's business operations in Europe, said: "This is the largest contract Flowcrete has undertaken in the Benelux countries and one of the largest - if not the largest - obtained in Europe to date."

Deckshield cosmetically enhances car parks areas and is exceptionally durable and hard-wearing. The product is backed by the promise of a fast installation time and a comprehensive warranty. It provides a convenient and effective method of protecting new developments, as well as enhancing ageing concrete structures.

The system is also fully compliant with BS and DIN standards, has full certification from the BBA, reduces tyre noise and provides a slip-resistant surface.

As well as providing a bright, attractive environment, Deckshield offers a protective system to prevent the ingress of water into the concrete structure, which will last in excess of 10 years.
