You skied and frolicked in the crisp white snow to your heart's content. Now you want to experience Meribel sans ski boots. There is so much more than the slopes to encourage you to get out of your ski chalet. Meribel offers a wide variety of activities including hot air balloon rides, spa treatments, sledding, paragliding and many more. Here are a few examples of what Meribel has to offer.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

For a unique and exciting way to view the peaks that you've been gliding down, take a hot air balloon trip over the magnificent mountains - you may even be able to see your own ski chalet! Meribel itself does not offer these enchanting balloon rides, you will have to travel to Courchevel. Due to the early start you cannot ski there, so pre-book alternative transport. The trips occur daily, as long as the weather is clear and there is no threat of rain or snow. The rides cost around £225 per person and are well worth the money for an experience you will never forget.

Massage and Saunas

If you have been skiing non-stop then you may want to take some time away from the slopes and have your tired body pampered by the resort's on-hand services. There is a range of relaxing activities you can participate in and you can even be indulged inside your own ski chalet. Meribel has a mobile massage service that allows you to enjoy the delights without even leaving your room. If you fancy something a bit more sociable, then take yourself off to the swimming pool which boasts a sauna, jacuzzi and steam room for your enjoyment.

Husky Sledding

If, on your non-ski days, you want to indulge in something a little more energetic than sitting in your ski chalet, Meribel has the perfect solution - husky sledding! At only £58 per person, this really is an energetic whirlwind treat. You are in charge of your own sled which means controlling 3-4 dogs. There is no place to sit down, so do not imagine that this activity is restful! It is hard and rough and you will be travelling up and down mountains, but the fun is well worth the effort! As long as the snow is good, the sledding is available three times every day in La Plantin, which is about a 5-10 minute journey from Meribel. You can get there by taxi, ask your hotel about the free shuttle or if you are feeling particularly vigorous you can ski to the village and get picked up by the husky company.

Paragliding

If you fancy getting your feet off the ground, other than in a ski lift, then check out paragliding. This is a fast and fun activity that will certainly tempt you out of your ski chalet. Meribel offers paragliding through various companies, so you will be spoilt for choice. It will cost you around £120 per person, but it is well worth the cost to experience the stunning scenery from a unique angle. There are flights of varying lengths and all kinds of locations, so whatever you want will be catered for.
