Like every other facet of our world, the impact of the internet on politics has been enormous. Perhaps even greater was the rise of video and the ability of users to post clips online via You Tube. Here are the five biggest politics sensations seen on satellite internet in the history of video use online.

5. The Obama family dog debate. Once the long and bitter 2008 election process -- which spanned years -- finally ended, everyone longed for a release. Almost by accident, Barack Obama delivered the solution in his acceptance speech in November. By promising a dog to his children and saying the decision was still up in the air, Obama created an overwhelming amount of discussion on the dog question. Satellite internet never had such a sweet viral sensation, and cute pooch videos are still being uploaded.

4. Hillary Clinton as Big Brother. The You Tube video that turned an attempt at candor by Hillary Clinton into an all-out campaign war. While Obama tried to root out the source -- vaguely tied to his campaign -- Clinton cried foul and we got a taste of the showdown that endured for many hard months. Satellite internet subscribers couldn't get enough of this fight, which began with a very impressive piece of video work.

3. George Allen puts his foot in his mouth. In what turned out to be a pivotal moment in his failed campaign to retain his Virginia Senate seat, George Allen had his "Macaca Moment" in 2006 and let opponent Jim Webb into a race considered to be over before it started. Showing the dramatic effects an amateur video can have on the political process, Allen's racially-tinged epithet became a must-see on satellite internet.

2. Obama Girl. In a strange but not entirely unforeseen moment, a beautiful woman who directed her affection toward Obama in the midst of his presidential bid became an unmistakable sensation all over the web. Lip-synching a romantic song for her contender, this scantily-clad supporter featured a level of sexuality not seen in politics since Marilyn Monroe crooned "Happy Birthday" to President Kennedy in the '60s. Like any attention-grabbing clip, this role was reprised continuously throughout the course of the election process.

1. Stephen Colbert roasts George W. Bush. For a country angered by the Iraq war and the inability of the mainstream media to confront George W. Bush on its policies, Stephen Colbert took matters into his own hands. At the annual White House Press Correspondents Association dinner, Colbert delivered one of his famously-styled speeches which roasted Bush in a merciless way. Unable to get away, Bush was forced to endure the humiliation. Satellite internet subscribers were glued to the video for months to come.
