Health and Wellness - The New Paradigm
You are probably sound and well yourself and are never ill or have a cold! But then maybe you know someone who suffers from time to time…..
This first article is about the mysteries of the immune system, which is all-important to our well-being. A lot of people do not know the difference between symptom treatment and cause treatment, and this creates unnecessary suffering. To many people there will, however, not be any news in these articles. Still the metaphors, and the way I explain connections, might be different from what you know.
Why are some people always well and healthy?
The answer lies in the immune system - also called the immune defence. If you have a well-functioning immune system your body is able to defend against the "enemies", - but if your immune defence is weakened you are more easily ill. Any illness is a sign that the body is out of balance.

What can weaken the immune defence? Daily things like too much stress, pollution, medicine, sugar, alcohol, tobacco, and shock/trauma. Also too little exercise and a poor diet can also be causes of a weakened immune defence. Do you recognize something from the above? Is your immune defence optimal??? Don't worry, because things can be changed by neutralizing the effects.
Now, what can strengthen the immune system? That could be healthy food, exercise, and sufficient supply of the basic nutrients, quality sleep, good relationships, and high self-esteem.
Does it sound reasonable or out-in-the-woods?
Let me explain it to you. You can strengthen your immune system either quickly or slowly. My experience, both personally and professionally, is that if you want to gain the most, in the shortest time in the healthiest manner, you should start with the body. That means doing a little more exercise, changing a little in your diet habits, and taking healthy, natural, active, quality supplements. If the body does not get the necessary vitamins, minerals, and amino and fatty acids you will still have a weakened immune defence.
The slower way in the long run to strengthen the immune defence is to make a personal choice to change a stressful job situation, or stop smoking/drinking, or change bad relationships, or whatever your situations asks for.
What is your first impulse if your body protests by for example a headache, a cold sore, cough, stomach-ache or fungal decay? Do you rush down to the pharmacy to buy something to stop it, - or do you, like more and more people, take responsibility for their own life and give their body the building material it needs to defend the imbalance itself.
Whatever your first impulse is, tells you where you are regarding your connection to natural health.
If you only want to get rid of the symptoms then the quickest way is to take some medicine. In a few hours the symptoms can disappear - but that doesn't mean that the original problem and the cause of the symptoms has disappeared for ever! The challenges might grow bigger after some time with allergies, hypersensitivity and complications.
So taking medicine might not be the smartest way…. Are there other ways, then?
The difference between a sweater and a scotch whisky
Let me give you a picture of this metaphor: One winter day you are freezing cold. What do you do? - Do you put on a jacket? - Or do you drink alcohol to get warm? What a choice….! Drinking alcohol gives you a immediately feeling of warmth, but the alcohol makes the blood vessels in the skin open. By that you lose heat! That is the reason why it is so dangerous to mix cold weather and alcohol! - A drunkard who walks home insufficiently dressed on a ice-cold winter night …… gets tired….. wants to rest…. fall a sleep!!! Death!
Drinking alcohol when you are cold makes you feel warmer. Taking medicine when your body is not working optimally makes you also feel better. Both work very well at the moment, but afterwards it might get worse! The result is seen everywhere! Have the expenses to sick people gone up or down the last years?
If you freeze you better prevent further loss of heat with a warm sweater and let the body warm up slowly from inside. That is the most natural.
What I am talking about here is giving the body the necessary building blocks that the body needs for it to function optimally! This is how the body was designed to do from the very beginning.
To do what is was created to do it needs all the basic nutrients. Not just one or seven different basic nutrients but all of them. Everybody needs ALL the many nutrients in the form of natural vitamins and minerals and amino acids and so on. All in different quantities of course, because you only need some of the nutrients in very small portions.
The similarity between a car and a human body
Here is a picture to illustrate what I mean: You use less oil on your car engine than gasoline or washer fluid. They have their different functions to make your car work optimally. But all three mentioned are important for your car to run, and for you as the driver to be able to look through the windscreen.
The consequences with deficiencies are different too: Without gasoline your car stops and you won't move a metre, - but you have not destroyed anything in the car. Without lubricating oil the engine will slowly get warmer and eventually be totally destroyed. Without washer fluid it will be difficult for you to look out through the windscreen and you risk an accident. Different consequences…..
To make it crystal clear to you what I mean I will ad one more example: The symptom of lacking cooling water in your car is a flashing lamp at the dashboard. The problem cannot be resolved from the driver's seat but by opening the engine hood, screwing off a lid, and pouring in some water. Not just a couple of drops, but maybe a whole litre. If you do not know better there is no logical connection between a flashing lamp at the steering wheel - and the engine under the hood. Hypothetically an ignorant person would be annoyed by the flashing lamp and maybe paste a piece of tape over it so that they are not being disturbed by it. Only if you KNOW it, is there a logical connection. Knowing that the flashing lamp is a symptom of deficiency in cooling water at the engine, and it could be fatal. You know it, when you know it - not before!!!
It is in fact exactly the same with your body. If you have a pain in your body (or in your life) you either have to supply something necessary - or remove something harmful. In the long run the best and most effective ways to get rid of unwanted symptoms is to remove the causes. For the body it is done most easily by eating organic varied food and taking natural healthy supplements to your food, so your body has the optimal possibilities to function as it is supposed to.
Who has the desire or time to lie in bed and feel miserable? To me, the only thing that matters is practical experiences. Does it work - or doesn't it work? Can it be avoided? Isn't THAT the most important thing?
Now - you might ask me from where I know all this…. How could Christopher Columbus know that the Earth was round and not flat? He brought together available pieces of information and looked at it in another way - and DID something by sailing out and discovering what really was. Without knowing so he RE-DISCOVERED, in a practical way, that the Earth is round. Even though everybody around him, 500 years ago, held on to the idea that it was flat. Columbus created a new paradigm. A new universal conviction and consciousness.
