Everyone and everything deserves a home of some sort or fashion so that there is a safe place for nourishment, rest and gatherings can occur. There is a great deal of activities that can be done in a home therefore it is imperative that the home meet all the needs of its inhabitants. The beekeeping hive is a wondrous home in itself as it can not only house and entire colony or society of bees, but it is also their factory to produce several products that man uses in his daily life.

Before beginning any project, you need to ensure that you have all the proper tools necessary in order to make the project successful. For the hobby of beekeeping, having a hive before obtaining the bees is essential. Hives are available in several forms and you will need to choose the one that will best suit your needs. There is the hive that naturally exists in which is made by the bees. The other hives available are man-made and are made for the purpose of honey making and to assist in the process of pollination.

Inside of a man-made hive, a frame construction, are usually frames that are made of wood and are rectangular in shape. These frames hold the wax in which the bees use to deposit the pollen that they collect before making it into the honey we desire; the hexagon cells that are created also house the nursery as the queen bee is constantly adding to the colony population. Also, the frames are removable to make gathering honey easier for the beekeeper.

The hive is very important to the bees as there life and their results of their job duties can be found inside of the hive. A natural hive is carefully formed by the bees out of various materials in their environment; this care is important to ensure the safety of not only their queen and her colony but also to store their food. If at all possible, it is best to not destroy a natural hive as this could possibly destroy a large colony who works in our environment every day and we depend upon the bees to continue their work. The pollination process that the honeybees perform is crucial to us; if they don't pollinate the flowers and trees around them, we would lose a huge food source such as a variety of fruits, nuts and other plants that flower and we harvest for nourishment.

We know that choosing the right beekeeping hive is important to properly care for the bees, but it is also important in the placement of their new home. The environment should be as free as possible of predators, should be near a good water source and should be in a location which is approved by your local government. The placement of the hive should allow the bees to help the surrounding environment but not affect the human population that it exists in.
