Seeking out and finding the right Vet for your pets can become challenging. If you are uncomfortable and uneasy with them believe me your pet will be too. Everyone wants to have the feeling of confidence and comfort with the person who will be giving medical care to their pets, making themselves and the pet feel safe.

If you are a new pet owner, you'll probably have no idea as to what to look for in finding a good vet. The first thing you will want to do is visit their office and look around, making sure that it is clean and free of foul or offensive odours. Make sure that the doctor's credentials are prominently displayed and that he/she is a graduate from a veterinary program that is accredited by the AVMA, American Veterinary Medical Association.

Never assume that you will be right in and right out, visiting the vet is the same as visiting your own doctor, there will be times that you may have to wait. Take into consideration the distance between your home and your vet's office, just because they're close doesn't mean they are the right one for you so don't give up good quality care just because a few blocks away is more convenient.

When talking to the veterinary assistant ask about their hours of business to be sure that their hours coincide with your work schedule and ask: What is the usual wait time to see the vet? Who cares for the pets when they are not available, and if they have an emergency clinic that they refer pet owners to in case of an emergency and they are not available. Make sure that you are comfortable speaking with the vet and or their staff What services are offered, many vet offices also do on site grooming Do they accept Pet Insurance if you pet is ill What types of payments do they accept, Credit Card, Cash, Check etc.

Finding a good Vet before you choose a pet is also a good idea taking your pet to in an emergency or for routine check-ups. , it makes for less stress and less frustration and you have a Vet that you are comfortable
