How many times have you heard this statement? Recently, I've heard it a lot. If I hear this one more time, I'm going to scream! I noticed it is what most people say when they are being challenged to walk in a deeper way and cultivate character attributes they do not yet possess. Truly, it is one of the biggest justifying excuses we can give to stay exactly the way we are. Did you notice the aspiring model on the new reality show went home because she was selfish and had a crass attitude? She went home just because that is who she is. Being just who she is kept her from realizing her dream of becoming a top model.
Whatever happened to a desire to:
Be more than you areGrow and soar into something uniquely precious and beautifulShed off something oldEmbrace something newBecome all that you can beGet rid of habits that keep you in conflicts with others and keep you from laying hold of your dreamsSee the best you that existsBehold greatness emerging from your beingDo something radicalChallenge "the norm"Impact others in a positive way by your elegant, classy, flawless character?Which you is showing…the inconsiderate, rude, no class you or the brilliant, loving you?
We are waiting to see the latter you. There is duality to our nature, and it is a deliberate choice to reveal the divine you. There is an entire world of hurting, suffering, poor in spirit people awaiting you. Shine brightly so they might find you amidst a sea of mediocrity, complacency, and deception.
Create distance between you and the "I'm ok, you're ok wannabes." Get out in the lead, run the race, and pace yourself. You get to be free to be who God created you to be. Yes, free to be just who you are in Him.
Well for me, I choose to be gracefully divine. If you want to come aboard for this heavenly, blissful discovery, I'm the coach for you.
