Why Should One Use Aftershave - What Type Should You Use
One does not use aftershave for glaze of skin or attractive flavor; there are other products like creams, moisturizers, and colognes for such purpose. The main use of an aftershave lotion or gel is in its capability to soften and smoothen the skin. Therefore, a highly scented aftershave lotion or gel may not be preferable at all.
The use
Aftershave conforms to its literal meaning, something to be used after a shave, a soothing balm to use after a shave. The skin on various parts of our body, especially the face is very sensitive and irritation, dryness and infection are the consequential offshoots of regular shaving. In addition there may be small injuries like cuts and scratches that need to be taken care of after shaving.
Types
Ordinarily, three types of aftershaves are typically used. First, there is the aftershave lotion which is good but may sting and may not be suitable to all types of skins. Secondly, the balm, that soothes irritating skin. The third and last one is Gel that not only soothes the irritating skin but also can relieve or prevent razor burns. A comparison between a lotion, a balm, and a Gel tilts the balance decisively in favor of Gel.
Choose what suits you best
Different people have different choices and therefore they will purchase different types of aftershaves. Some will go by the looks and others by the smell. But the ultimate choice always rests with the end user who has to decide what is best for him.
