Affiliate Revenue-How to Create an Affiliate Marketing Business

Cashing in on affiliate revenue opportunities is simply a matter, in essence, of being a sales agent for someone else. Here's a simple example of how the whole process works. Let's say, for example, that you're a craft person and you have a web site where you sell quilts. Your web site is essentially an online catalog containing page after page for various quilts that you and your friends create. In addition to selling quilts you have an opportunity to cash in on affiliate revenue. The first thing you do is to identify other possible products that the people that visit your site might be interested in. Let's say that you decide that people interested in quilts might also be interested in quilt making and collectibles. Great!

Now you do a little research. You start by going to somewhere like www.associateprograms.com to research that has an affiliate revenue program for collectibles. There you discover that the Franklin Mint, a well-known supplier of collectibles has an affiliate program. You browse their terms and decide you want to enroll in their affiliate revenue program. One of your friends tells you about Amazon.com's affiliate program too so you quickly research that and decide that cross-selling books (about quilt making and collecting) might make good sense.

Following up with Franklin Mint's and Amazon's affiliate programs will then result in your adding specialized links to your website so that when various products of yours are displayed, cross-sell items are displayed or pitched from the Franklin Mint or Amazon. If one of your visitors purchases something through the Amazon.com or Franklin Mint links - you earn a commission!

That's all there is to it. Study your market, identify the appropriate affiliates, link up and reap the affiliate revenue benefits.
