Acne frequently appears around the face and neck regions but some people seek back acne treatment when they develop outbreaks on their back, it is often a more difficult area to treat. Acne is very common condition; nearly all of us have had to deal with acne in some form or another at various times in our lives. This makes acne the most common form of skin disease in the world.

The wide range of acne skincare, acne products, and body acne treatments available range from a natural acne remedy and herbal acne treatments, to acne medicines and creams, right through to laser acne treatment and acne scar treatment. Not to mention the many books and websites available that offer the latest method of acne prevention.

What causes acne? The condition of back acne takes a similar form to when it appears on the more visible areas of the body like the face, neck and chest. Generally, hormonal imbalances in the skin oil glands, known as the sebaceous glands, results in the skin pores becoming blocked and the appearance of lesions and blackheads, normally referred to as pimples, zits or spots. The condition often occurs when the body undergoes significant hormonal change such as the period during puberty in boys and girls, in women during pregnancy and when beginning to take or when they stop taking the birth control pill.

However, there may be several other factors that cause the condition specific to back acne which lead to more targeted body acne treatment. For example, the wearing of tight clothing may be a possible cause. Wearing tight clothing, especially on hot days, forces the perspiration and moisture generated by the skin to be trapped against your skin as it has nowhere to evaporate to, which results in the clothing rubbing and leads to irritation of the skin. Other forms of skin irritation in this area of the body would include carrying a heavy shoulder bag, rucksack or backpack, the straps of which would cause friction by rubbing the back region therefore attributing to the condition of back acne.

Back acne treatment is a more difficult condition to remedy than when it appears on the face, neck or chest, because the back region is a somewhat "hidden" part of the body. This makes it more difficult to reach when washing your body and harder to treat with acne remedies. In general you can alleviate the condition somewhat by not wearing tight clothing, make sure your clothes are clean and more loose fitting. Ensure that you clean the back well during washing using a soap containing salicylic acid, perhaps using a loofer. Also make sure you change your bed sheets regularly as bed sheets full of bacteria can significantly inflame the condition. Finally, never touch or squeeze the acne, as this will only make the condition worse.

Acne can be incredibly upsetting due to the profound physical effects it can have in some people. However, acne is an extremely common condition with many back acne treatments and loads of acne prevention advice readily available.
