When creating a new web site for your business, you already have enough to think about with the aesthetics, functionality, and quality content. The last thing on your mind at conception is actually getting visitors to come to your site.

Eventually, you will finish the main creation of your site and will want to have it seen by the world. What is your budget that you have left after building your site and what time frame do you have to recoup your investment?

There are two ways to advertise on the internet.

The fist is paid traffic. From pay per click to paid inclusion on web sites, you will pay a fee for each click, the number of times your ad is shown on a site, or a monthly fee for having a static ad on a site for a month. You choose how much you are willing to pay and what a good return on investment will be for this traffic. Also, you have more control on where your ads show up on the internet.

Paid advertising is not a great long term solution for creating lasting quality web traffic. You have to continue to pay every month with ad prices going up and down. It will however get the traffic to your site while you improve you placement position in the natural search listings.

The second is natural or organic listings of your site content. These listings appear below the sponsored search ads in Google, Yahoo, and MSN. This takes the proper search engine optimization techniques to accomplish great placement as for most general search terms, there are millions of pages with the relevant content you will have to compete with. If you do not have experience, you can't figure out how the search engines analyze data and grade your site content for placement. It would be in your best interest to hire an SEO company that has proven results in getting high placement for its clients.

Natural placement does take time to see the results, so be patient it may be several months to a few years depending on your keyword terms and how often you update the content on your web site. Also you will need to create back links from other websites that have a text ad pointing to yours. Directories all always a great place to add your text ad for free.

I recommend that when you have a new website, start off paying for your advertising , work on your web content using the best keywords related to your products,. You will start to show up in the free listings and will be able to slow your paid ads down as you see your free ads next to your competitions paid ads.

Find a professional SEO company that will help you optimize your site for faster indexing of your site, as there are several things that have to be done correctly to have the search engines find your site, take the information and display it properly.

Paid advertising is also very tricky and you can go through lots of money trying to figure it out as well. This is also a service it may be cheaper in the long run to have a professional company do for you.
