We all want our children to be smart. We all want our children to learn faster. We desire these things because we know that early learning, when done properly will make our children smarter at an earlier age. Right? Of course we do! We know that they will advance quicker in math, learning their numbers, learning to count, learning simple words, learning to print, learning their letters through the alphabet etc. We understand by us doing these things and by having layed down that 'foundation' at an early age, we have contributed to their over all success through the rest of their lives.

A child's brain at an early age is like a sponge. It absorbs everything around it. If we take the time to fully train our children's brain by contributing to their mental development at an early age we can give them a definite educational edge.

So What Can We Do?

We need to find areas of education and training that we want to build upon first. We need to get into a program of training while keeping it fun and interesting so that they don't even know they are being trained. Work on their numbers by pointing out numbers when they appear in everyday life. Numbers appear on street signs, on houses in flyers & catalogues, be sure to point these out at every opportunity with your child. You can even make a fun game out of it. You can ask your child to point out every number that they see and have them identify it. Don't be too worried about them getting them right, you can take the time to correct them when they are wrong.

You can do the same with letters. Point out different letters that appear in everyday life and just gradually build upon that. This way learning becomes fun, a game. These same ideas & techniques can be done with colors and shapes as well. Making things fun will really get your child into it. They will focus on doing their best to find and identify those numbers, letters, colors shapes or what ever it is that you are looking for. Gradually they will learn more and more and need newer and bigger challenges.

Grocery flyers are great ways to get your children to identify different types of fruits, vegetables, meats and other foods common in everyday life. This will work on their word recognition, grammar and observation skills, much like a set of flash cards would.

You could for example even create a simple game of having your child list all of the items that they know that start with the letter 'a'. You can then gradually work your way through the entire alphabet. This is a great mental builder and really builds a knowledge base for your children.

There are countless numbers of ways to educate & develop your child's early learning skills. We have some great tools and packages for Preschool Learning, activities & more to help your child to learn faster & easier than ever thought possible.

Keep looking for new ways to challenge and teach your children!
