Bachelor degree programs are beneficial options for every one of student categories. These bachelor degree programs usually last for four years, depending on the discipline and the institution. Some bachelor degree programs might need two years of study, while other may take up to 6 years to fulfill the course.

In Europe, bachelor degree programs exist in almost every state. In some continental European states nevertheless, these programs have recently been re-introduced by the means of Bologna processes of education. Each nation judge differently bachelor degree programs, for example, in Denmark, the initial format was referred to as "baccalaureus" and today modules have been reconsidered in 1993.

There are 2 bachelor degree programs at the universities in Denmark these days: the first one is for the technical, medical and scientific areas (The Bachelor of Science Program) and the latter is destined to be qualify graduates in humanistic, theological and jurisprudence areas (The Bachelor of Arts Program).

Few disciplines have established less common rules, for example, medical and didactic fields do not permit graduates who have accomplished any of their internal bachelor degree programs to enroll automatically in master's degree format as alternative fields have set upon successful completion of precise bachelor degree programs. France, another nation in Europe, has a special system of bachelor degree programs. The tradition bachelor's degree here is the equivalent of the French "Licence" three years degree. In 2004 the modern European system of Bologna process was founded.

This is a system used in many European countries, together with France, and is has become a standard to recognize a Bachelor's over three years, a Master's over 5 years and a phd over eight.

In the English-speaking world, the universities of Oxford and Cambridge are maybe the only institutions in U.K. awarding Bachelor of Arts degrees for all undergraduate studies. As for U.S., BA and bachelor of science degrees are usually granted by all accredited colleges and universities although, some colleges endorse only bachelor of arts degrees, that is to say, liberal arts institutions.

In countries such Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, India or South Africa there has been an expended range of bachelor degree programs over the last one hundred years. This is what one might call a giant step towards specialization in post-secondary education.

The universities in these countries have dedicated training courses for specific professions. It is a departure from the liberal arts approach common in the United States - where students are trained in a variety of specializations - adding to an academic major where students are ready to pursue a specific profession or a progression of careers.
