Today I would like to talk about promoting your blog. It takes time to create you first SEO niche blog, and make it search engine friendly, but to tell the truth: it is actually a silly idea to wait for Google to find your niche blog and trust it enough to include in the search results. In order to appear in search results it is not enough to make your site search engine friendly, but you have to show the Spiders that your site is trusted and generates an increasing amount of traffic each day.

Register with directories
To promote your blog, and start receiving traffic the first thing you have to do is registering with blog directories. You have to do it manually for the best traffic generation results, as the categories differ at each and every directory and you must make sure that your listing is in the most appropriate category. I have a list of these high PR directories, that will - if your site is relevant - include your link in days and even if your blog doesn't come up on page one, you have a chance to be included piggybacking the directory's page rank. Also please check if the blog is "dofollow" or "nofollow", as "nofollow" sites might send you traffic but will not create backlinks.

Other blogs' traffic
You also can visit other blogs, that are relevant to yours and review them, comment on them. Remember: commenting on a blog to get backlinks does not equal spamming sites, your comment has to be helpful, relevant and catchy. Also you might get followers on the blog directories, and if a site is relevant to yours you can go for link exchange. I have had a couple of these requests, in the first days, and it will also help your blog ranking.

Article Marketing
You can submit your articles to high ranking article directories, first building traffic to your blog, second: to build backlinks as well from trusted sites. You can include either your blog url to drive traffic to your site or do deep linking, to the most relevant post on your blog.

Press Releases
Press releases are very effective ways to drive traffic to your site and make your article rank in the first page. There are a couple of high ranking Press Release sites where you can also register your profile, which creates a great backlink to your site on its own. You have to find a hot topic people would click on when they are browsing Google news for example.

Youtube Videos
Did you know that videos rank genuinely much better on search engines than articles or sites? People love videos, and tend to click on them as well. Create a keyword rich profile on video sites, and instead of creating a long flashy video, you can actually turn your articles into videos in literally 60 seconds. By including your site url in your profile, you will get people to click through to your site.

There are obviously many more ways to generate traffic to your site, but these are the most effective and fastest methods anybody can master.
