Detox diet foods will also recommend foods that give your body the necessary vitamins, minerals and nutrients. Foods that are high in fiber and a lot of water are also recommended in most detox diets. These will all help to eliminate the toxins that you are trying to get out of your body.
As part of the detox diet, there are often ingredients in the drinks that will help to clean out the large intestine. Ingredients such as raw vegetables, fiber, probiotics and colonics will help to flush and clean out the entire intestinal tract. The raw vegetable and the fiber help to give your body systems bulk.
Do these diets really you to lose weight? It is very possible that you will lose some weight with these kinds of diets. Unfortunately, these kinds of diets tend to have the dieters lose weight, gain it back, and then lose it again, which has become known as the yo-yo effect. There is little if any protein ingested, which can hurt you buy slowing down your metabolism. These diets are supposed to help you improve your energy, improve your digestive system and intestinal system and improve your mental processes.
Detox diets may have some side effects. Some people may find that they get headaches. These are often due to the decrease of caffeine intake. If you do not make sure that you drink a lot of water, you may become hydrated, so it is very important to drink plenty of water. You may feel tired and irritable, hungry and fight some acne. You want to keep your protein intake equal to around one gram for every pound of your bodyweight. This will let you get rid of some of your fat, but allow you to keep your toned muscles.
