As we know there are many of us who are suffering from one or other type of sleep apnea , but do not know which one we are suffering from. Here we are going to concentrate more on central sleep apnea which is the rarest type. When someone has problems in receiving and transmitting brain signals, you may have central sleep apnea, where when you are sleeping you are experiencing recurrent disrupted breathing.

Furthermore, you may also become affected by obstructive sleep apnea which is more common form of sleep apnea than central sleep apnea, it occurs as the name implies, due to blocked or obstructed airways.

Available Treatment For Central Sleep Apnea

Using A Drug Called Ambien

There are many different types of treatment methods which are made available for handling obstructive sleep apnea, though in the case here the same cannot be said. Ambien, a sleep drug which has new advancements in its uses may benefit those who are suffering from central sleep apnea if used as a treatment.

Furthermore there is no doubting the fact that, according to facts gathered as a result of studies made on patients using Ambien, its effectiveness has been proven to be quite promising. In addition the drug has helped in reducing sleep apnea problems from an average of thirty to thirteen per patient, this should be taken into account when considering its effectiveness for treating central sleep apnea.

However, study should still be carried out on the long term effects of Ambien as a drug used in the treatment. Therefore before taking the decision on using it for your problem, be apprised that Ambien has yet to be fully tested for its use and you should also not use it unless it has specifically recommended by your doctor.

To know the difference between them and even better if you are aware if you don't actually have a central sleep apnea which is known as mixed sleep apnea where it is basically a combination of both types of sleep apnea types.

It is quite difficult to to really notice the difference or symptoms for both of the sleep apnea types because they can sometimes be so similar. Furthermore, the causes for each kind are more than likely going to be varied in each case. As mentioned earlier, it is the least common type of sleep apnea and it is quite dissimilar with the more common obstructive sleep apnea, and if you have the former, you will definitely going through difficulties in brain timing, meaning it has problem firing the way that it should be. As a result there is insufficient oxygen supply while you are sleeping.

it is also common for those affected by it to wake up many times during the night when you gasp or choke for breath as in other types of sleep apnea. Surprisingly these episodes can occur as many as hundred times in a night, as a result you will be deprived of valuable sleep and rest.

Therefore whether you are suspecting of having central sleep apnea or obstructive sleep apnea, you need to consult your doctor and get a prescribed treatment program as early as possible so that you will get better treatments.

Therefore even with central sleep apnea it is possible for you to get treatment.
