Dressing Pets Up For The Festive Seasons

During different kinds of festive seasons, everyone will pamper themselves to shop for food, new decorations, furnishings for their homes to welcome visits from their closed ones.

Have you given a thought to your pets while you and your family always get dressed up to pay visit to your relatives during festive seasons, or to receive visitors?

Take a walk into the most decent-sized pet shops these days and you will discover all sorts of cute clothing just for your pets. At this time of the year, many of these will be Chinese-themed, with emphasis on the color of red. Some clothings with red brocade and even matching Oriental headgear.

While your pets, cats or dogs, may look an absolute darling with all togged out in a sweet outfit that is just right for the festive occasion, do practice self-restraint. Do not overdo and do not let your pets have their clothings and accessories on for too long.

Most pets will feel restricted, hot and irritable with an extra layer over their coats in anything other than the coldest, windiest winter climates. So keep to one thin layer, nothing thick or scratchy, and leave it on only for a short period of time.

What constitutes a "short period" depends on your pet's individual tolerance level, if you have air-conditioning, and whether the pet has sensitive skin-it could be anywhere from 10 minutes to a couple of hours.

Once your relatives have cooed and gurgled over the cutey pie, spare the pet a thought and put the clothes away.
