The Most Basic Golf Swing Tip Ever - Stay Hydrated!
First and foremost, you need to pay attention to how you handle your water. And, I'm not talking about the kind you have to drive over either. This is the kind you ingest to keep you hydrated on the golf course.
The majority of muscle is made up of water. You'll need to replace what you perspire away from those muscles with an amble intake of water. This will keep the body cooled and functioning at its best.
Dehydration can take you down a bad road. Hit a few bad shots here and there, and the stress begins to build. While under stress, you're body is going to need more water.
I think a good rule of thumb is one good healthy swig of water after every full stroke you take. This should give your body all the water it needs, and keep you going strong. Don't wait until you think you're thirty. Dehydration can creep up on you and begin taking a toll before you are even aware.
Here are some other tips:
· Drink past quenching your thirst. When you think you're done, take another mouthful or two.
· Stay away from sugar. No soda, please.
· Stay away from alcohol. Of course, for the obvious reasons, but muscle memory is a very delicate thing. You're reading this. Golf must matter to you. Alcohol is a dangerous area when it comes to your golf swing.
· Drink small amounts continuously. Taking huge gulps could lead to headaches and have you running for the bathroom.
· Stay away from salt pills.
· Drink your own water. You know where it came from, after all.
Often times while playing golf you're going to need an energy boost. You're going to want to ingest a carbohydrate. If you begin to feel a little tired in the middle of a round you're going to need something to give you a pick-me-up.
Again, no sugar!
Carry a banana, nuts, apple, or possibly some raisins.
Be sensible. Don't take anything for granted. Take care of yourself. Getting better at golf, seeking to improve your golf swing, is no different than anything else. The measure is in the detail. Making sure your body is well looked after is a detail you do not want to overlook.
