Investment Alternatives For High Yield Returns

Generally speaking a safe investment opportunity for your money implies a correspondingly low rate of return. Conversely, a risky investment normally rewards the risk taker with much higher rates of return. But what if you could combine safety with a high rate of return? That's getting the best of both worlds and should make a potential investor very happy.

Of course, it is quite possible to get high returns with low risk using mainstream investments like stocks, bonds, mutual funds and hedge accounts. However, you have to really know what you're doing or be closely associated with someone that does. There are also other kinds of investments that are not as well known but yet also have good profit potential in relation to risk.

Examples of some of these investments include:

Oil & Gas Programs

Investors who participate in this type of investment are usually in it for the long term or at least for a few years. Investors looking for income and speculation may find this type of investment right up their alley. The payoff potential can be huge if the risk is managed properly.

REITs

Also known as Real Estate Investment Trusts. These investments are backed by large tangible assets such as office and commercial buidings. As a part owner of real estate you get depreciation on these investments creating a tax deferred benefit. They are also structured for appreciation which is where most of the profit is made. This type of investment is well suited for an educated investor that wants income, stability, safety and capital appreciation in their portfolio.

High Yield Fixed Rate Investments

This kind of investment provides a fixed rate of return on a monthly basis. A good example of this would be private note deals. There exists a very large secondary market of private mortgage notes that are sold or traded at a discount. The resulting transactions, if structured properly, can result in very good rates of return for the holder of the note.

Being aware of and researching alternative investment vehicles can pay off handsomely for those willing to make the effort to go beyond what an average investor may be willing to settle for in terms of safe investment yields.

To your prosperity,
