Marilyn Manson's and Lance Morrow's Views on Violence

I have read two articles devoted to the problem of violence in today's world. One of them is called "Childhoods End" and is written by Lance Morrow, the other one is titled "Columbine: Whose Fault is it" and it belongs to Marilyn Manson. Both articles refer to kids not having anywhere to run, or anything to strive for. In the article written by Lance Morrow is said that our world had given the children neither self-discipline nor anything to hope for. Children have problems expressing themselves. This is exactly the kind of thing that was said in Marilyn Manson's article. He says that children grow up more cynical, they understand that they are living in the world full of bullshit; they have nowhere to escape. It is clear in both articles that kids are being led to violence for the world has nothing to give them except bullshit. Marilyn Manson believes that media is guilty of it.

Other than the interrelation between the articles depicted above, the two articles really have much things to be compared. They are on the same theme and all- violence in kids, but they do not go into the same particulars as each other. The article "Childhoods End" is really more of an article that describes an incident; for instance, the shooting of Tyrone Sinkler and Ian Moore in high school. This article is a feature one; it begins with reference Martin Luther King, and also contains a description of the guns weight and power beauty. But this article does not explain much why kids are using guns. The article says that children having no self-discipline and nothing to hope for use guns which they consider to be "articulate". As for the article of Marilyn Manson, it affected me greatly. Manson convinced me in his seeing of violence in modern world, the writing style of the article is really great and this article really has depth.
