If you want to have success and happiness in life but seem to be apathetic, there is a secret for you that will help you overcome apathy. Some people will say that apathy is just laziness but I am just going to assume that you aren't lazy. I believe that sometimes, apathy comes even when we don't want it at all.

John Dos Passos explains it like this, ‘Apathy is one of the characteristic responses of any living organism when it is subjected to stimuli too intense or too complicated to cope with. The cure for apathy is comprehension.' If you are able to think back to when your apathy started, try to find out if it started after you felt like the situation that you were facing was too intense or complicated.

If this is the case, then you need to understand and comprehend the situation that you are facing. As soon as you begin to understand what is needed to achieve something it becomes much easier to attain.

It's like building one of those plastic model cars. I used to build a ton of them when I was a kid. You can see what it's supposed to look like from the picture that's on the box but when you open up the box all you see are about 150 pieces of plastic. The majority of which you wouldn't have a clue about how they fit into the model. If it didn't come with instructions you would soon give up and become apathetic to building the model because you would have no comprehension about how to do it. It would be too overwhelming. However, as soon as you open up the instructions you get motivated because now you have an understanding of where each part is supposed to go.

Overcome apathy by getting the comprehension about something that would otherwise just look too complicated to ever achieve.
