By the time you have reached the 11th week of pregnancy, you will have noticed a lot of changes in your body and there are more to come. Although your baby is growing quite quickly in the uterus, your belly may not be really big just yet. In fact, if you haven made the announcement that you are pregnant, some of your friends and family may not even notice any changes. You will find that your breasts are starting to enlarge somewhat and that your pants are fitting a little more tightly around the waist. You shouldn be too concerned if you haven gained any weight and if you have had intense morning sickness, it is quite normal to lose weight in the first trimester.

You will still be experiencing morning sickness, but it may be decreasing a bit and you are looking forward to the second trimester in which the nausea is supposed to subside all together. Just in case you are one of the expectant mothers who do have morning sickness for the duration of the pregnancy, you shouldn plan on it happening, but just wait and see.

You will notice changes in your hair growth. If you experienced hair loss when you first became pregnant, now you will see the opposite effect. You will have faster than normal hair growth, which may or may not make it easier for you to get ready for work each day. It may mean more frequent trips to the hair dresser. You may also notice hair growth on other parts of your body because of the increase in hormones, such as on your chest. You shouldn be alarmed by this as it is normal and the hair growth will stop once the baby is born. If it really bothers you, though, you can engage in waxing or even electrolysis during pregnancy to get rid of the unwanted hair. Your nails too will grow faster.

By the 11th week of your pregnancy, the baby weighs only about a half ounce and is less than three inches in length. The head is much larger than the rest of the body ?accounting for over half of the weight and length. By this week the toes and fingers have separated and although the body is transparent, the bones have started to harden. You won be able to tell at this point if you are having a boy or a girl because the sex organs have not yet fully developed.

While you can travel during any point during your pregnancy up to the 36th week, you may feel more comfortable putting off any travel plans until you reach the second trimester or at least until you no longer have any morning sickness. There are many books you can read about what to expect in the remainder of your pregnancy and now is a great time to get started. It is perhaps a little too early to start any serious shopping for the baby, but you will likely spend some time wandering around the children department when you go to the stores.
