An Additional Challenge For The Article Writer

An additional challenge when writing articles is not to do with the amount of articles to write, nor with the quality of each individual article, but with something else.

Imagine that writing articles is like a business. And think about one of the most important issues for any business or company? For a company it is like solving an equation in which quality and quantity are both relevant. If you do not produce or sell a significant amount of products you will be out of business. If the quality is perceived to be low you face an even bigger thread. And both influence the continuity of your business.

To translate this requirement -- continuity -- to the area of writing articles you need no real other ingredient than continuity itself; the continuity in writing articles. Not the amount of articles you write is key, nor the quality but the fact that you -- your business -- is still around next season.

And this makes perfectly sense. Imagine that you have bought a new machine from a supplier. Your main worry is that the machine needs a replacement but the fabric is closed (for ever). Or that you have bought a new washing machine of a brand that is out of business the next time you talk with friends about it.

The author doesn't need to provide any support on articles, but she does need to be present in the near future, just for the sake of credibility. If you are no longer present you are like the producer that left the economic arena. There is no new version on the market, nor is the (company's) image improved over time. No continuity means the end of the story and the name of the company will fade away.

The parallel with writing articles is obvious. If you are a frequent writer you should check whether you will be able to keep up the same rhythm in the near future. Or you could make a small change of direction and perhaps improve the quality of the new future articles.

But you must continue the article production.
