Vacations can be for relaxation and solitude, adventure or sightseeing. Whatever your mood is, you can find what you're looking for in New England. New England vacations can entertain each member of a hard-to-please family. With four very distinct and colorful seasons and six states filled with attractions, amusements, romantic hideaways, plenty of history, shopping and eating, you can be sure that your next New England Getaway will be the perfect vacation you've been long awaiting.

Major attractions in New England include Six Flags amusement park, Canobie Lake Park, Faneuil Hall, Mount Washington, Foxwoods Casino and Mohegan Sun Casino. Other activities that are common in New England are skiing, white water rafting, golf, sailing & boating, whale watching, camping, hiking, fishing and hunting. Thousands of miles of coastline cover New England so there are plenty of beaches.

Here are some helpful hints:
Plan your vacation well. Most stressful vacations arise due to reservations that fell through, missing baggage and delayed or cancelled flights. Choose your lodging based on the activities you wish to do while on vacation. Your lodging should be centrally located to what you plan to visit. Always arrive with plenty of time for getting lost or for registration.

Quick Steps:
Decide where you are going
Decide when you are going
Decide how you are going to get there (car, plane, etc.)
Make all of your necessary reservations (air, car, hotel, etc.)
Decide on the budget for the entire trip
Start a savings plan
Decide who will take care of pets/house/garden while you are away
Decide who will pick up your mail and newspapers and hold them until you return
Reconfirm all reservations 2 weeks prior to leaving
Pack - be sure to keep all reservation paperwork handy

Stay relaxed while on vacation. Don't sweat the small stuff. Don't let your kids get on your nerves. Don't worry about things back home. And don't schedule too many things into one day.
