Our Worst Enemy is APATHY, Not Any One Particular Leader or Country - It Is I, and It is You

Being patriotic is making sure you know that your country is on the right path and speaking out when it is not, no matter what the consequence.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH, THE BILL OF RIGHTS are at risk and slowly leaving the mindset of thinking people. The masses seem to accept that it is OK to have their mail opened, or phones tapped. We can be called terrorists in our own country and lose ALL rights.... but that's OK, right?

It is up to YOU... to seek out the truth, and that cannot be found on one single TV channel. Get lots of opinions to discover what yours really is. Don't be a puppet.

Get involved, be informed!...or you may lose what you think you treasure.

Our worst enemy is not one particular leader or country.

OUR WORST ENEMY IS APATHY.

People need to write to CNN who actually does very daring specials on what we are doing in Iraq; MSNBC's Keith Olbermann is also speaking out on his show Countdown. Write to whoever you listen to and stomp on the doors of manipulation.

If people want the media to report what is relevant to the times they need to write and call them. Encourage trailblazers to continue speaking out... like Keith Olbermann. One day he may not be on and no one will understand why.

David Gregory MSNBC;NBC has also been an outspoken reporter at times... asking questions to Tony Snow and doing interviews with tough questions.

Write to HBO and Bill Maher, who lost his show Politically Incorrect because he spoke out and used his right to freedom of speech. Write to PBS, isn't that supposed to be for the people? I personally get a lot from them but if you don't, hey, say so with a letter.

I name only a few. I am obviously liberal but if you aren't and you want to hear what you deem as truth, write, call, don't do nothing. If your heros in the media are at FOX then write to them, let them know what you need to hear more of.

The choice is ours.

We did not riot in the streets when we lost the right to Habeas Corpus*. It is our fault as Americans if we choose to sip a cool one and watch football while our leaders continue on knowing that for the most part Americans are complacent.

Without decent, without freedom of press, there is no Democracy.

Habeas Corpus Act 1679: Responding to abusive detention of persons without legal authority, public pressure on the English Parliament caused them to adopt this act, which established a critical right that was later written into the Constitution for the United States.

"An act for the better securing the liberty of the subject, and for prevention of imprisonments beyond the seas."

I am a figurative artist and illustrator living in Hawaii. Most of my work is painted in oils. I also do sculpture. I illustrated for Hay House Inc.,"Women Who Do Too Much" CARDS taken from Anne Wilson Schaef's book. I also illustrated for Neil Davidson, who was considered for the Pulitzer Prize in feature writing, and several other publications. My paintings are collected worldwide.

In every single one of my paintings my objective is to 'know them'. To let character reveal their own vision or message. I am often astounded as their presence unfolds and I am met with who they are. I then realize that who 'they' are defines me as well. My hope is that my paintings & sculptures relate to you, and that legends of mermaids; whimsical angel pictures; and tooth fairies fantasies give you the message you need for your own heart and soul. http://www.kathysart.com and http://kathysart.blogspot.com
