You strike out towards the deep waters in a motorboat armed with just a reel and a rod. With the sun at your back, you think to yourself. You want to catch the big one. But can you handle the big one? That depends on what kind of reel you're bringing with you. With the Shimano Tyrnos, you can be confident that this time around the big one won't escape you. With the Tyrnos, you can be sure about your chances.

The classic Shimano Tyrnos is an offshore conventional reel which boasts of the following features:

• Metal series
• Ratcheting drag lever to eliminate boat vibrations
• Harness lugs (50IILRS, 20II, and 30II, and only)
• Loud click strike alarm
• Ergonomic power handle for comfortable non-slip grip
• Stainless steel drive and pinion gear and main shaft
• Aluminum braces with lightweight graphite sideplates
• Alternating Twin Pawl Anti-reverse
• Exclusive Shimano water shielded drag
• Pre-programmable lever drag with almost unlimited drag range
• Oversized handle shank for improved torque
• Oversized gears for better torque
• High speed gear ratios
• Reduced profile top crossbar (20II, 30II, 50 IILRS only)
• Topless design (16II, 12II, 10II, 8II only)
• Four Anti-rust bearings (A-RB)
• Solid, one-piece die-cast aluminum frame

The Shimano Tyrnos 2-Speed is actually an offshoot from the classic Shimano Tyrnos, building off of the strengths of the standard Tyrnos and adding a new twist. The difference between the two series lies in the Quick Push Button Two-Speed Gear Shift. Putting the real into high gear allows you to move the lure rapidly to attract certain kinds of fish, continue putting tension on a fish that is fast approaching your boat, quickly clear a trolling pattern on a hookup, and pick up line while backing down on a fish. The low gear provides you with the extra cranking power to pull stronger, bigger fish while easing the strain from your body at the same time. Shifting between gears works without a glitch because the 2 gears are actually 2 complete and separate ones. Turning one on does not affect the other since they are both always engaged.

The Shimano Tyrnos two-speed innovation is quite simple to operate. All you have to do change to high gear is push the grey button 'Push High' on the handle's side with your index finger. To change from high to low speed, just push the Low Gear Shift Button. You don't even have to take your hand off the reel. Simply use your thumb to push the button. The Shimano Tyrnos is so easy to use you can even close your eyes when you do it!

All the amazing features of the Tyrnos combined with 2-Speed Gear make the Shimano Tyrnos a formidable companion during your offshore fishing trips. The Shimano Tyrnos 2-Speed is evidence of the quality, durability, and superb performance that a Shimano reel offers. Bring this reel and rest assured that you'll have one heck of a fishing trip.
