Do you think that your website could have a cheap website design that might be driving your visitors away from your website? When it comes to a good website design, knowing what your visitors hate is a must.

One website I saw the other which I found really annoying had a very attractive website design. It has some nice graphics, a good flash header with sound effects. When I first went to the website, the header looked really attractive but after a few seconds when I tried to concentrate on the content of the website the header started to annoy me as it became difficult to concentrate on the text. I would not completely blame the cheap website designer who has developed that web site design as I think there are a lot of consumers in the market who absolutely love websites with flash animation without understanding the annoyance factor of such animations. However it can also be argued that it was the website designer's job to ensure that the customer understands the negative side effects of such animation.

So Is your Website Annoying Your Visitors?

It really is very easy to annoy visitors to your website. In fact some website developer are very good at it. The beauty about the annoying websites is that it has bells and whistles that cost more than a usable cheap website design and thus website designers make good money out of them.

In my opinion, these are the biggest turn-offs to more than 80% of serious Internet users:
1. Music: If you are not a musician or an entertainer, make sure that you don't play sound on every page. If you really want audio in your cheap website design, use it only on your homepage and even then give users the option to turn it off.

2. Font so big, that your website shouts: If your website is not for visually impaired then there is no need to have big fonts on your website. A lot of people perceive big fonts equal to shouting.

3. Small Font Size a no-no as well: Also make sure that your font size is not too small. A good website design will keep the font size at Verdana 10 or Times New Roman (& Arial) 12. The best option you have is the ability to give users to increase or decrease the font size according to their need.

4. Pop-ups: I think this point is redundant as everyone (almost) knows that Pop-ups are annoying. Also you have to realise that most of the latest browsers do block pop-ups now so there is no point in using pop-ups in your website design.

5. Hidden Information: The golden rule of website design and website development is that no information should be more than three clicks away. In fact the patience level of people with websites is decreasing so rapidly that I would suggest that develop a website design or your web site navigation so that no information should be more than 2 clicks away.

This is just my list of annoying web site designs and I tried to point out a few things that could be useful for cheap website designer and Website Developer. At the end o the day, all the website designers and customers want to develop a website design that add value to your business by converting visitors into customers.
