Seek God And Find His Riches

Isaiah 55:6 states, Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.

There are many scriptures that tell us to seek the Lord in different ways, but because this is a book on God's riches in our lives we will study the ones concerning wealth.

The word says that all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hid in Christ. (Colossians 2:3) In order to find God's wealth that He has for us we will need to seek His wisdom. Wisdom has wealth and riches in her hand.

God is not far from us. When we whisper he hears. He greatly desires that we find His path that leads to His abundant treasures. We must seek Him in faith. The above scripture tells us that he can be found. We need to expect to find His wisdom concerning wealth and riches. The book of James says to ask God for wisdom and it shall be given but we must ask in faith. God will not answer if we ask in doubt and unbelief. Unbelief un-does everything that God has done for us.

The following scriptures Psalms 34:10-16 give insight to finding God's path that leads to His wealth and riches. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

We as the young lions must be taught to seek our food. Until the young lion learns how to hunt he goes hungry. The same is true with us. We must learn the fear of the Lord which will cause us not to lack any good thing.

Romans 8:17 states, "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." There is a time of suffering and endurance in order to have God's riches manifest in our live. James says that patience will bring us to a place of no lack.

We are told to do six things in the above scripture to find the path that leads to God's riches and wealth.

Keep thy tongue from evil
Keep thy lips from speaking guile
Depart from evil
Do good
Seek peace
Pursue peace

When we live our lives according to these six things we are assured that God's eyes are upon us and His ears are open to our prayers and He delivers us out of ALL of our troubles. When we ask Him for wisdom He grants it. When we ask Him how to get out of debt He shows us. When we ask Him for seed to sow he gives it.

We also see in this passage of scripture that those that do not live their life according to these six things shall be cut off from remembrance from the earth.

Proverbs 9:10 tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It is the trailhead so to speak. When we get these six things straight in our life, then we can begin to walk the path that leads to God's abundant wealth and riches. These six things will cause us to see good all the days of our long lives on earth.

Proverbs 6:16-23 tells us things that will take our feet off the path of prosperity and also things that will keep our feet on the path of prosperity.

16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.

22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.

There is nothing that God will not show you about finding His treasures. Notice Proverbs 28:5, "Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things."

Notice Romans 8:32, "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?"

Isaiah 51:1 tells us where to dig for God's treasures, Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. Christ is the rock from which we were cut.

As we allow the Holy Spirit to form Christ in us, His riches and wealth will be manifest. It is a custom when one goes to another's house that he bring a gift. When Christ came into us He brought His riches with Him. As we find His wisdom we will find His riches and wealth.

Ephesians 3:20 says that God can do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think according to the power that is at work in us. He is waiting for our lives to line up with His wisdom so His riches can be manifested to us and through us.

The following passage of scripture, Ecclesiastes 9:14-16, tells us why it is so important for the Body of Christ to come into our wealth. 14 There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it:

15 Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.

16 Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

Verse 16 is the answer. The poor do not have a voice. They may be full of God's wisdom in other areas of life but people will not hear their words if they lack wisdom of wealth and riches. A poor man's wisdom is not complete until he comes to wisdom to obtain and handle riches.

A rich man that does not know how to handle riches will be poor in a matter of time. But a rich man that understands God's wisdom concerning wealth will enjoy wealth all of his life. Note the two scriptures below concerning this.

Ecclesiastes 5:19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.

Ecclesiastes 6:2 A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.

Both men's riches were a gift from God, but one had the wisdom to handle riches and the other man did not. The man with wisdom retained his riches and the man that did not have wisdom lost his riches to the stranger. A man with out wisdom to handle wealth is like an evil disease, nothing good can come out of it.
