Each birth is a cause worthy of celebration, and most parents appreciate new baby banners as an effort to include family and neighbors in the celebration. It is easy to find a wide array of new baby banners online, in a wide range of prices, to fit any budget. Another option is to put your creativity to the test, and make a banner that will be treasured as a special gift or even one that is creatively made for function as well as flair.

A good homecoming is one that makes the joyous stress of the homecoming a little less stressful. Whether your gift is homemade or purchased, if it accomplishes this, it is sure to be appreciated. Most parents come home within 24 to 48 hours after giving birth. They are understandably tired, and visits are usually best left for a few days later, or kept brief.

Whether you use a purchased banner, or a simple blue or pink ribbon proclaiming "It's a Boy!" or "It's a Girl!" to hang on the door or mailbox, it's nice to include something extra to smooth the transition from expectant parent, to new parent.

A nice choice is to leave a welcome basket of flavored, decaffeinated coffees or teas, home-baked bread and jam, or fresh bagels with all the fixings (so that the new family doesn't have to worry about preparing breakfast the first morning after they bring the baby home) when you hang the new baby banner. You can even include a couple of craft mugs, so the new parents can personalize it with a baby photo!

An easy to make new baby banner, is a simple oversized bow, of 2-3 inch wide, wire-edged ribbon, in an appropriate color. Make a large, looped bow, with long tails, and use stick on letters (in silver or gold) to write your welcome on the banner. A perfect welcome when you leave a welcome basket on the doorstep, when you put the new baby in his home for the first time.

A baby banner is a must for any family coming home from the hospital for the first time. Welcome them with one!
