Thanksgiving is a holiday which is followed by most countries in the world in different forms. It is celebrated around harvest time in different countries under different names. The start of the holiday was similar everywhere. The tradition has been to thank God for the harvest everywhere.

Thanksgiving is time of remembrance and reflection. On Thanksgiving, you can start your day by going to your place of worship and offer prayers to God. Show your gratitude and thankfulness to the almighty for everything he has given you. If you cannot make it to your place of worship, sit in a quiet corner in your home and do it in your mind. After this, wish your parents and thank them. Now you must wish and thank all your siblings, relatives, neighbours and friends.

During the day, you can take part in fun activities like pumpkin carving. Or you can simply spend a nice day with your family. You can also make this day as a get-together time for all your family and extended family at one place. Click photographs, talk with everyone and spread smiles around. In the evening you can prepare a big traditional Thanksgiving dinner with your family. Take part in cooking the food and you will enjoy the experience. Serve the food to everyone and make sure everyone is well fed. A big turkey is a must on the dinner table on this day. There are other traditional dishes which you can try as well.

In the night, before you go to sleep, take 5-10 minutes to reflect over the day. Think about the good things that happened to you and thank God again for everything. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
