Building An Inner Life

How do we build a strong inner life? One of the key ways of building a strong inner life is to have set of principles. These principles are what will keep you heading in the right direction and standing on solid ground. You can find some of the best principles in the scriptures and other inspired writings. We must make these principles part of our daily thinking process to ensure they stay fresh in our mind.

We must maintain our inner life even when our outer life is not treating us kindly. You must remember that a major principle is not to allow the actions of others to affect your inner life or inner peace. We must always try to maintain a solid anchor on which to stay in place with; don't allow others to cast you adrift. Love your fellow man, but you are not responsible for their attitudes or actions. You must keep your mind strong and firm; it is one of the best ways to survive the challenges of this life.

Another way we can maintain a strong and balance inner life, is to take on a gentle spirit. It makes it a lot easier for us to live without a lot of stress. The daily occurrences of life are not always easy or understandable. It is best to not overreact to some of the unexpected daily events. We must learn to maintain some kind of balance or a place of assessment. You must make yourself stay calm when facing the unexpected.

We should try to maintain an open mind. There are times in life when people are just going through hard times. We must be open to allow them a little space for expression. Things affect people that have nothing to do with you; don't take it personally. They are not trying to rain on your parade. You must keep you mind open to this possibility.

Lastly, we must learn to work on ourselves. We should realize that we are all in this world together. Nobody is any better or more important than anybody else. We should practice seeing everybody as equals. The world has its favorites but we should not. To the best of my knowledge, for the most part, we all came in the world the same way. Working on us means seeing everyone as equals and having compassion on our fellow man. Keep your mind strong, and you will find it a major key to successful living.
