If you are new to internet marketing, I am sure you have made this mistake before. Did you just blindly write out articles and submit into many article directories and hope to get as many link back as possible? I did this mistake too.


I write many articles and use a article submission service and submit them to thousands of directories in hope that I can rank high for many of my keywords for my main site. But over the year online, I have learned the hard way that this is not the right way to do it.


There is a much profitable way on doing article marketing. Besides just aimlessly submitting into directories, there is another article marketing technique that can give you more returns. Instead of just using article marketing as a mean to get back links, you should be using your high quality articles to drive targeted traffic to your website. Yes, do not underestimate the power of your articles.


If you do a search of your keyword term that you are optimizing, in many cases, it is dominated by high traffic article directories. If you were to put yourself in the web surfer shoes, you would click on the top searches provided the title is enticing enough. The visitor that reads the article has a problem and is looking for a solution and this makes the visitor a highly targeted visitor.


So, your next step is to make your author autobiography really attractive so that the visitor which is already viewed you as the expert click on it. In many cases, newbies would promote themselves in the autobiography section. This is a huge mistake and the main problem that I am trying to point out to you in this article. Instead of promoting yourself, you need to promote a solution that can help your visitor.


Then, in the autobiography section, lead them to your website and not just any page but your squeeze page or lead capture page. This is the page where you capture their name and email address in return for a free program or report that can help your visitor. This way, you can sell to your visitor over and over again. Now your visitor views you as an expert and leave in a very happy mood because they received something of high value for free.


This is a perfectly win win situation. Your visitor wins and you win because you can marketing you stuff to them over and over again. Plus, you get free one way back links top your site.
