Are you dreading having to give a best man's speech? Are you looking into the ways of how to deliver a funny best man's speech? Do you feel that you are not very good at talking in front of a crowd of people? Do you have a fear of speech or public speaking? I am quite confident in the fact that a lot of people will have answered at least one of the above questions with a yes. Lets face it having to be a best man is quite a daunting task, one which most people hope they will never have to perform. Apart from all of the other duties involved with being a best man, it is having to give a speech which puts the majority of people off. In this article I am going to give advice which I hope will make this part of the task a little easier.

In my opinion preparation is the key to success in any form of public speech. Planning well ahead for such an event is crucial and will ensure that you are a little more at ease on the big day.

There is no need to make the best man's speech last any more than five or ten minutes. l am sure we have all attended a wedding where we just want the best man to stop talking and to lets say, get on with it, so that we can continue to enjoy the rest of the day.

It is always a good idea to include a couple of jokes or funny stories, perhaps about the groom himself. It is important to keep these clean however as there are likely to be children present. Telling a small joke is always a good ice breaker in these situations.

Even though you may not like your new mother-in-law, thank her for her efforts and remark on how great she is looking. Tell her that she has done a wonderful job in bringing up her daughter.

Also, not to leave her out, thank your own mother for all of her hard work and for putting up with for all these years.

Keep on this light hearted theme and you are sure to be just fine, good luck.
