My native land is Sacramento, California and I have lived here my whole life. That is only what I know and I truly have nothing to compare it to. When I see people that are not from California and they discover that I am, they right away ask me definite questions. The questions are based on stereotypes or myths concerning California and the citizens that live here. From an outsider's viewpoint, California is thought to be a hot and sunlit place all year round. California is seen as a home to celebrities and film stars. Public think all Californians are blonde haired and blue-eyed individuals that surf and live close to beaches. California is as well seen as a place where citizens have much money, live in mansions and live extravagant lifestyles. Californians are often thought of as "hippies" or "freaks", a lot more open-minded in their appearances than the rest of the US. Sorry to say people come to California with convinced expectations that are based on myths not reality, as a consequence they may end up disappointed and feeling a sense of treachery.
A legend is defined in the Webster's Online Dictionary as: a well-liked faith or tradition that has grown up around something or someone; particularly: one embodying the ideals and institutions of a civilization or segment of humanity. I see a fable as something people take for granted based on things they have heard, not on their own individual experiences.
I accept as true that weather is part of the "California Dream". Lots of people are interested in California for the reason that of our weather. They live in states where the climate is extremely difficult to bear in the winter and in the summer it isn't as hot and bright as they'd like. The thing is, even though California may be warmer than other states, it still does not have magnificent weather all year round. I love the summers in California as it is mostly warm and sunny, but I feel like the rest of the year is just too frosty for my liking. As for me, California has only two seasons, summer and winter.
