A golfer can often cure golf slice problems in a short period of time with the help of a couple of simple drills that are designed to quickly get their swing onto the correct path. To cure golf slice shots that can ruin your scorecard and lose you plenty of golf balls try these two simple drills.

The first drill that is a common one used to cure golf slice faults is concerning the stance. A golfers incorrect stance can often cause persistent slicing of the ball, and that unwelcome left-to-right balll flight. As is common knowledge an open stance where the feet point to the left of the target is a factor in causing a sliced shot.

One way to counteract and cure golf slice faults is to exaggerate the opposite. While on the practice range you should take up your normal stance. You should then move your right foot back about twelve inches and hit some practice shots like with this set-up position. This will develop a swing that comes more from the inside - the swing path needed to produce a straight or drawing ball flight and cure golf slice shots. Hit more practice shots with this set-up until you feel that you have grooved this new swing path.

When you become comfortable swinging in this fashion you should then take up your normal stance again. You should however try and maintain the same feeling within your swing as when you had your right foot drawn back. This can be the first step to cure golf slice problems.

Secondly, here is a drill to make sure that your swing path is definitely coming from the "inside". Take the headcover off your driver and tee-up a ball. Now place the headcover about two to three inches to the right of the ball, just far enough away from the ball so that your clubhead comes straight at the ball or from an inside path it will not hit the headcover. Position it though, in such a way that if the club comes to contact the ball on an "outside" path - the path that promotes a golf slice - that the clubhead would hit the headcover. Now, practice hitting shots with the headcover in place and not making any contact with it whatsoever.

The problem when trying to cure a golf slice, or for that matter when a golfer tries to remedy any fault with their swing, is getting correct feedback to know that they are practicing the right thing. Hitting practice shots with the simple visual check of this headcover can cure golf slice problems within a few sessions. This leaves no room for opinion or vagueness - just straightforward fact. This is simply because if you swing incorrectly you will hit the head cover, if you swing correctly you will not. Practicing this way will soon see you hitting the ball straight and true on the range and will soon cure golf slice shots and hooks out on the golf course.
