How to Spice up your MySpace Corner

With an abundance of easily available tools and templates, it's fairly simple for MySpace users to generate a basic website quickly.

This is perfect for people who only intend to use their MySpace site for keeping in touch with old friends and for making new friends. However, individuals who are involved in internet marketing should consider offering their visitors more than just a plain website.

If you are looking to spice up your MySpace Website, here are two simple and remarkably easy ways to make it happen.

Add background music

MySpace makes it amazingly easy for members to add music to their profiles. From a marketing perspective, you may want to focus on delivering...marketing messages. Nobody says you have to use music. What if you produced different, short info clips for each day of the week? Whether music or news, here's how to make it happen:

Log in to your MySpace account and click the link that takes you to the MySpace music database. Listen to the music available and select the song you think is most appropriate for your profile. All you need to do now is click on the "Add" button, which you'll find below the song title. The music is added automatically to your profile.

The only restriction to members is that every profile can have only one song associated with it. Attempting to add a second song will cancel out the first selection and replace it with the latest choice.

If you wish to remove the song that is linked to your profile you can do this by clicking "Profile songs" in the "Edit Profile" section.

Add videos

Adding videos to MySpace is easier than you think. HTML or other programming skills are not required. All you need is a video. You can use anything produced by you-you own the copyright-or anything produced which you have permission to use. Don't take content from other video sharing sites.

What video style should you use? If you have a product, you can demonstrate it in action. People like to see how a product is used before they buy. If you have a service, you can provide training or tutorials on your subject.

Click on the "Add/Change Videos" link on your MySpace homepage. It will load another page where you can either upload your own video or browse through the data base of previously uploaded videos. Select the one you want and click "Add to my profile".

Adding music and video to your MySpace profile isn't just for teenagers. The tools are available so make the best use of them.
