What Is Your Definition of An Angel?
The Christian Bible tells us that it was angel Gabriel that came to the Virgin Mary and announced to her that she had been chosen by God to bear His son, the Christ, and to name him Jesus. Some angels are sent to help us in a particular situation, while other angels protect us from harm and are titled Guardian Angels. So why do we need a messenger or a guardian angel? I do not have the answers to this, but the Christian Bible tells us that none of those who have had direct contact "The Living God" could look upon him. So perhaps the angels are there to serve that we can see God through their eyes.
God so loves us that He not only answers our prayers and gives us His blessings, grace and mercy, but also sends us angels to protect us from various forms of harm and evil. We are now in a time with a lot of change on this planet, and some suggest that we are in the end times because of the wars, Christian persecution, and natural disasters that are going on in the present day such as tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, floods in some areas and drought in others, that we are experiencing at a more than normal rate than from our past history; and the reported appearances of angels told in the medias seems to be on the rise as well. Perhaps people are praying to God more often, with our needs being so great these days, hence more reports of them be seen? Throughout the history of man angels have always been there for us; but they do not intercede without invitation because this would interfere with our free will.
I find that on occasion, when I feel the most hopeless and I start deeply praying, God sometimes sends an angel to help.
They are an asset in our lives, and serve as an expression of God's love for us. But we can never forget that God is supreme, for without Him neither mankind nor angels would exist. And as Christians we also can never forget Jesus, because without Him paying for our sins, with His death and His resurrection, we could never make it to heaven to be with the Father for the rest of eternity.
